Stiles: Northern families are stuck subsidizing Ford’s luxury Toronto spa

QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, Leader of the Ontario NDP, asked the Premier how he can justify the out-of-control cost of the Ontario Place redevelopment in Toronto to the northern families who will have to pay for it.

“While working families in the North are struggling just to put food on the table, Doug Ford’s focus is on a vanity project at Ontario Place that will cost every household in the province $400.”

“People expect their taxes to be invested in things that will help make their lives better – like making Northern highways safer, and recruiting more doctors so everyone can access primary care close to home. Why are families in Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay paying to build a luxury spa in Toronto?”
